LIFT Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 22, 2026 · Last updated: September 30, 2026
LIFT ("we," "our," "the app") is a hypertrophy-focused workout tracking app. This policy explains what information LIFT collects, how it's used, and the choices you have.
LIFT is built local-first: your training data lives on your device. We collect only what's needed to run the app and manage your subscription. Nothing is used for advertising, and nothing is sold.
Information we collect
Training data. Your workouts, sets, reps, load, RIR, and session history are stored locally on your device using an on-device database. We do not currently collect or receive this data on our servers. There is no account required to use LIFT, and no login.
Apple Health data (optional, write-only). If you choose to connect Apple Health, LIFT writes your completed workout data (exercises, duration, and related workout metadata) to the Health app so it appears alongside your other health records. LIFT does not read heart rate variability, resting heart rate, respiratory rate, sleep data, or any other Health data from your device. This connection is one-directional: LIFT to Health.
Subscription information. Purchases and subscriptions are processed through RevenueCat and the Apple App Store. The RevenueCat SDK in the app sends RevenueCat an anonymous ID, your App Store purchase details and basic app and device details so it can confirm your subscription. We receive subscription status (active, expired, trial) to unlock app features, but we never receive or store your payment details. Those are handled directly by Apple.
Analytics. LIFT does not use any analytics, crash reporting, or tracking service, and no third-party SDK collects data about how you train. The app keeps a small log of in-app events on your device. It never leaves your phone except inside your own iCloud backup, and we have no access to it.
Form videos. If you add a YouTube link to an exercise, the video loads from YouTube when you open that exercise. YouTube's own privacy policy applies to that video.
How we use your information
- To calculate your training program, track your progress, and adjust volume recommendations, all performed on-device
- To write completed workouts to Apple Health, if you've enabled that connection
- To manage your subscription status and unlock paid features
How we share your information
We share data only with the service providers who help us run the app:
- RevenueCat: subscription management (we receive subscription status only, no payment details)
- Apple: App Store transactions and, if enabled, HealthKit write access
We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers, and we do not use your data for advertising.
Your choices
- You can revoke LIFT's access to Apple Health at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Health.
- iCloud backup. LIFT writes periodic backups of your training database to your own private iCloud container under your Apple ID, so you can restore your history on a new device. These backups stay in your iCloud account. We have no server and no access to them. You can delete them from the Files app, and you can turn off iCloud Drive for LIFT in iOS Settings.
- Because your training data is stored locally, deleting the app deletes your training history from your device.
- You can stop using any feature at any time without losing access to the app.
Data retention
Your training data is retained locally on your device for as long as you keep the app installed. We do not hold a server-side copy of your training data. Subscription status is retained by RevenueCat and Apple per their own retention practices, for as long as needed to manage your subscription.
Future changes to how we handle data
We're planning optional cloud sync (to keep your data available across devices) in a future update. If we introduce this, it will involve a backend storage provider, and we'll update this policy, including what's collected, why, and who it's shared with, before that feature goes live.
Children's privacy
LIFT is rated 9+ on the App Store and is a general-audience fitness app.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as LIFT evolves. We'll update the dates above when changes are made, and if a change is material (like introducing cloud sync), we'll make that clear in the app before it takes effect.
